India–Africa Seed Summit 2025 Set to Boost Agri-Partnerships and Seed Trade

The Indian Chamber of Food and Agriculture (ICFA) is all set to host the India–Africa Seed Summit 2025 from September 11–13 in Hyderabad, widely known as India’s seed capital. This prestigious summit will bring together key stakeholders from government, industry, research, and development sectors across India and more than 20 African countries to explore new avenues for cooperation and sustainable partnerships in the seed sector.

Currently, the India–Africa seed trade stands at an estimated $20 million, but experts believe there is significant potential to scale this up to $500 million over the next 7 to 10 years. The summit aims to pave the way for this growth through strategic collaboration, policy alignment, and mutual investment.

A Platform for Strategic Collaboration

With India’s rich agro-climatic diversity and global reputation in low-cost, high-quality seed production, the summit will focus on how Indian expertise can support Africa’s goals for agricultural development and food security.

The India–Africa Seed Summit will serve as a dynamic platform to:

  • Advance seed trade and technology partnerships
  • Promote regulatory harmonization and aligned certification systems
  • Enable investment and innovation in seed production and systems
  • Strengthen food security and climate resilience in African agriculture

Hyderabad: The Ideal Host

Hyderabad, home to many of India’s top seed companies and research institutions, offers the perfect setting for high-level dialogue and collaboration. As a hub for agricultural innovation, the city symbolizes the potential of Indian expertise in driving global seed sector growth.

A detailed program note has been shared with participants, outlining the summit’s sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.

ICFA looks forward to welcoming delegates and partners to this landmark summit that promises to reshape India Africa agricultural cooperation and lay the foundation for long-term, impactful partnerships.
