Hawaii State Farm Fair Returns July 12-13 at New Permanent Home in Whitmore Village

Hawaii’s favorite family farming event is back and better than ever! The 59th Annual Hawaii State Farm Fair kicks off this weekend, July 12–13, bringing with it two full days of agriculture, food, education, and fun for all ages. This year marks a special milestone as the fair settles into its brand-new permanent home in Whitmore Village on Oʻahu, signaling a fresh chapter for one of the state’s longest-running agricultural events.

Organized by the Hawaii Farm Bureau and the Hawaii State 4‑H Livestock Council, the fair will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. Families, students, and visitors will gather at the fairgrounds near Kahi Kani Park on Whitmore Avenue for a celebration of Hawaii’s farming culture and rural life.

A key highlight of the fair is the popular 4‑H livestock showcase, where young farmers exhibit animals including steers, pigs, lambs, chickens, and rabbits many of which they have raised and cared for themselves. For many keiki, this is a rare opportunity to meet real farm animals up close and learn how food gets from farm to table.

In addition to livestock exhibits, the fair will feature a wide variety of fresh local produce at the “Buy Local, It Matters” pavilion and Country Market. Local food vendors will be on-site offering everything from poi mochi and gourmet summer rolls to island-style chili and Thai cuisine. With a strong emphasis on local and sustainable food, visitors can support farmers while enjoying Hawaii’s unique flavors.

Entertainment will also take center stage, especially for children. The lineup includes fun performances by StevO the Clown, carnival rides, hands-on educational displays, and for the first time, a performance by Hui Pū. The fair is designed to be both fun and educational, helping attendees connect with the roots of Hawaii’s agricultural traditions.

Admission is $5 per person, while children and students get in free with a valid school ID, making it an affordable outing for families. The event encourages community connection while educating the next generation about the importance of farming, food security, and supporting local producers.

For more information, schedules, and updates, visitors can check hawaiistatefarmfair.org or follow the fair’s social media pages.

As Hawaii continues to emphasize food resilience and agricultural education, the 2025 Hawaii State Farm Fair offers the perfect blend of celebration, learning, and local pride welcoming all to experience the best of island farming under the sun.
