Ambala Agriculture Department Receives National Scotch Award

The Ambala Agriculture Department has been honored with the prestigious National Scotch Award for excellence in crop residue management, innovative practices, and results-oriented initiatives.

The award recognizes the department’s effective strategies in reducing farm fire incidents and promoting environmental conservation in the district. By implementing a planned, data-driven, and strictly monitored field-level approach, the department has achieved a historic decline in fire occurrences.

According to official figures, farm fire incidents in Ambala dropped from 195 in 2023 to 99 in 2024, and further down to just 8 incidents in 2025.

The award was presented during a ceremony in New Delhi, which was attended by Dr. Jaswindar Singh, Dr. Rajesh Agrawal, Karan Singh, Praveen, Deendayal Sharma, and Mandeep Singh, who received the honor on behalf of the department.
