Coromandel Launches ‘Gromor Gram’ Initiative in 101 Villages to Strengthen Farmer Outreach

Coromandel International Limited has launched a new initiative called Gromor Gram across 101 villages in 12 states to improve last-mile connectivity with farmers and strengthen agricultural advisory services. The programme aims to bring scientific farming knowledge and technology-driven solutions directly to rural communities.

The initiative has been introduced in villages across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat. Each Gromor Gram village will function as a dedicated agricultural hub where farmers can access practical guidance, modern farming demonstrations and technology-enabled services.

Under the programme, farmers will receive services such as soil and leaf testing, crop advisory support, demonstration plots and drone-based crop spraying. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between agricultural research and field-level practices by translating scientific recommendations into simple techniques that farmers can easily adopt.

Along with the launch of Gromor Gram, the company also introduced the Nutri Connect digital platform. The app provides farmers with personalised crop and plant nutrition guidance based on data-driven insights. Through the platform, farmers can access services such as soil and leaf testing, request field visits, schedule drone spraying and receive expert recommendations throughout the crop cycle.

The application also offers additional tools including mandi price updates, tank-mix guidance for crop protection products and the ability to locate nearby Nutri Clinics. These features are designed to help farmers make informed decisions and improve farm management.

Currently, the Gromor Gram initiative is expected to benefit more than 75,000 farmers across the selected regions. The company plans to expand the network gradually while integrating digital solutions through the Nutri Connect platform to further enhance technology-based agricultural advisory services.

Speaking about the initiative, Madhab Adhikari said that the programme reflects the company’s commitment to working closely with farmers by combining agronomic expertise with technology-driven solutions. According to him, the model villages will help farmers adopt balanced crop nutrition practices and achieve sustainable productivity improvements.

Part of the Murugappa Group, Coromandel International is one of India’s leading agri-solutions providers. The company operates across the agricultural value chain, offering fertilisers, crop protection products, bio-products, specialty nutrients and organic farming solutions. It also runs a large rural retail network that provides farm inputs and advisory services to millions of farmers across India.

With the introduction of the Gromor Gram initiative, the company aims to strengthen agricultural extension services, promote sustainable farming practices and improve productivity and profitability for farmers at the grassroots level.
