National Workshop Highlights Women-Led Agri and Livestock Entrepreneurship in Udaipur

The National Workshop on Agriculture and Livestock Entrepreneurship, held in Udaipur from 11–13 November 2025, featured a focused panel discussion on promoting women-led enterprises under the She-LiFE initiative. The session, titled “She-LiFE: Women-led Entrepreneur Promotion (Agri-LivPreneurs)”, took place on 12 November and brought together experts, innovators, and national rural ecosystem partners.

The panel was chaired by Ms. Swati Sharma, IAS, Joint Secretary, Rural Livelihoods, Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), NRLM. Representatives from leading organisations—including Animall, GIZ, Social Alpha, Allnsons, and other key rural partners—shared insights on strengthening entrepreneurship among rural women engaged in agriculture and livestock value chains.

Discussions centred on enabling women to build sustainable agri–livestock enterprises through a combination of technology, training, and improved service delivery. Key focus areas included:

  • Tech-enabled advisory and input services to support informed decision-making
  • Data-driven quality testing and traceability mechanisms to improve market trust
  • Digital platforms for streamlining enterprise operations and expanding customer reach
  • Capacity building to empower rural women as leaders within agricultural and livestock value chains
  • Strengthening last-mile service delivery through trained community-based professionals

Experts emphasized that She-LiFE holds significant potential to cultivate a new cadre of Agri-LivPreneurs—women entrepreneurs capable of driving efficiency, innovation, and measurable impact across rural markets.

The session concluded with a shared commitment to scaling digital solutions, improving institutional support, and fostering collaborations that empower rural women to lead high-growth, high-impact enterprises in India’s evolving agri–livestock economy.
