Kimitec and Bayer have officially launched two groundbreaking biological products developed through their ongoing strategic partnership aimed at transforming agricultural inputs with natural and sustainable alternatives. The products are the first results of the companies’ multi-year collaboration that combines Kimitec’s biotechnology expertise with Bayer’s global reach in crop protection.
The first product is a biological solution designed to control spider mites, derived entirely from natural sources. This biopesticide is expected to be introduced in the United States later this year, followed by launches in Mexico and Brazil. The second product is a biostimulant developed to enhance soil health and plant vitality by leveraging beneficial microbiota, improving crop resilience and productivity.
Both innovations were developed at Kimitec’sMAAVi Innovation Center in Spain using cutting-edge AI and omics technologies. Bayer contributed its robust field-testing capabilities and global regulatory knowledge to ensure the products meet agricultural demands across diverse geographies.
According to Félix GarcÃa, CEO of Kimitec, these products represent a major step toward a new agricultural era rooted in natural, residue-free technologies. Benoit Hartmann, Head of Biologicals at Bayer, highlighted that this partnership is helping fast-track sustainable tools that support integrated pest and crop management strategies.
The release of these products reflects the joint commitment of Kimitec and Bayer to reduce dependence on chemical inputs and promote ecological balance in farming systems worldwide.
