Himachal Pradesh Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Prof. Chander Kumar has firmly denied reports claiming he has resigned from his post. The clarification comes in the backdrop of allegations of irregularities in recent departmental transfers.
Speaking to the media, the minister stated that the resignation rumours were “completely false” and reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving in the current government. “There is no truth to the speculation. I am focused on strengthening the state’s agriculture and livestock sectors,” he said.
The controversy surfaced after opposition parties raised concerns over the transparency of recent transfer decisions within the agriculture and animal husbandry departments. Critics alleged that several postings were done without following due process, prompting demands for an official inquiry.
While the government has not yet announced any formal investigation, officials indicated that the matter may be reviewed internally to ensure all procedures were followed correctly.
This development also comes amid administrative tensions in other departments, where disputes over appointments and staffing have drawn public and legal attention.
As of now, the state leadership continues to support Prof. Kumar, who remains in office, with no formal notice of resignation submitted.
