China has unveiled a new five-year action plan aimed at accelerating agricultural modernization, as Beijing steps up efforts to enhance farm productivity, improve food quality, and strengthen national food security. Under the new plan, Chinese authorities will prioritize the integration of advanced technologies such as smart machinery, digital agriculture platforms, biotechnology, and data-driven farm management systems. These innovations are expected to play a central role in boosting yields, reducing production costs, and addressing challenges linked to climate change, labor shortages, and resource constraints.
A key pillar of the action plan is the development and scaling up of modern agricultural demonstration zones. These zones will serve as testing grounds for new technologies, improved crop varieties, and advanced management practices.
