The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DA&FW) has completed extensive preparations for Special Campaign 5.0, launched by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG). The campaign, aimed at promoting cleanliness, efficiency, and timely disposal of pending references, is being implemented in two phases: Preparatory Phase (16–30 September 2025) and Main Phase (2–31 October 2025).
During the Preparatory Phase, all 28 Divisions of DA&FW and approximately 200 subordinate and attached offices, PSUs, autonomous bodies, and authorities under its administrative control undertook comprehensive preparatory activities. These included identifying cleanliness sites, e-waste, redundant items, pending references from PMO, MPs, VIPs, Parliament Assurances, and public grievances.
The Department, under the leadership of Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, IAS, Secretary, DA&FW, participated in a massive office cleaning campaign at Krishi Bhawan, encouraging officers to identify e-waste, old files, and pending references. Shri Chaturvedi also participated in a DD News programme on 20 September 2025, alongside the Secretary of DARPG, highlighting the initiatives of DA&FW and the benefits of Special Campaign 5.0 and Swachhata Abhiyan.
Officers were requested to collect e-waste from offices and homes at designated collection points for safe disposal. In addition, the Department will hold a workshop on 9 October 2025, in collaboration with DARPG, to sensitize officers on public grievance redressal and demonstrate innovative items made from e-waste generated in government offices.
