Good News for Farmers: Railways Bringing Five Rakes of DAP, Urea to Madhya Pradesh

Amid concerns over fertilizer shortages in Madhya Pradesh, farmers in the Gwalior-Chambal region have received welcome news. In the coming days, the Railways will deliver five rakes loaded with fertilizers, ensuring adequate supply for farmers across Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, and Morena districts.

According to officials, the incoming rakes will carry more than 8,170 metric tonnes of fertilizers, including 2,680.20 MT of urea, 2,362.20 MT of DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate), and 3,128 MT of Ammonium Phosphate Sulphate. The move aims to ease the difficulties faced by farmers during the current crop season.

Fertilizer Supply for Gwalior and Datia Farmers

R.S. Shakyawar, Divisional Joint Director of the Farmers’ Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, informed that two rakes would arrive at Dabra railway station on September 3.

  • The first rake will carry 1,835.80 MT of DAP from IFFCO.
  • The second rake will bring 892.50 MT of Ammonium Phosphate Sulphate.

Both consignments will be distributed among farmers in Gwalior and Datia districts.

Additionally, on September 4, another rake will reach Dabra with 2,680.02 MT of urea supplied by Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited. This stock too will be allocated to farmers in Gwalior and Datia.

Adequate Fertilizer for Bhind and Morena Farmers

The supply chain will also cover Bhind and Morena districts. On September 6, two more rakes will arrive at Rairu station:

  • One rake carrying 526.40 MT of DAP from Paradip Phosphate Limited.
  • Another rake with 2,235.50 MT of Ammonium Phosphate Sulphate from the same company.

These consignments will be distributed across all four districts Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, and Morena ensuring that farmers receive adequate fertilizer supplies for their agricultural needs.

Officials assured that the government is making continuous efforts to ensure smooth fertilizer availability in the region, so that farmers do not face difficulties during the sowing season.
