Haryana Praises Union Budget’s Focus on Agriculture and Rural Development

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has welcomed the Union Budget 2026–27, praising its strong emphasis on agriculture and rural development and describing it as supportive of farmers and rural communities at the state level. The Chief Minister said the budget reflects the Union government’s continued commitment to strengthening the farm sector and improving livelihoods in rural India.

Reacting to the budget proposals, CM Saini noted that agriculture remains the backbone of Haryana’s economy, with a large section of the population dependent on farming and allied activities. He said the budget’s focus on improving farm productivity, promoting diversification and supporting rural infrastructure would directly benefit farmers across the state.

The Chief Minister particularly appreciated the government’s emphasis on enhancing farmer incomes through technology adoption, digital advisory services and support for allied sectors such as animal husbandry and dairy. He said these measures align well with Haryana’s own efforts to modernise agriculture and encourage farmers to move towards more sustainable and remunerative practices.

CM Saini also welcomed the budget’s focus on rural development, including improved infrastructure, connectivity and services in villages. He noted that investments in rural roads, storage facilities and market access would help farmers reduce post-harvest losses and secure better prices for their produce. Strengthening rural infrastructure, he said, is crucial for inclusive growth and balanced regional development.

Highlighting the importance of coordination between the Centre and states, the Chief Minister said Haryana would work closely with the Union government to ensure effective implementation of budget announcements. He added that timely execution and efficient utilisation of funds would be key to translating policy intent into tangible benefits for farmers on the ground.

The Haryana government, he said, remains committed to supporting farmers through state-level initiatives in irrigation, crop diversification, soil health management and farmer welfare schemes. The Union Budget’s continued focus on agriculture and rural development, according to CM Saini, provides a strong policy framework for states to build upon.

Overall, the Chief Minister described the Union Budget 2026–27 as forward-looking and farmer-friendly, expressing confidence that its emphasis on agriculture and rural development would contribute to stronger rural economies and sustainable growth in Haryana and across the country.
