ICAR 2025 Counselling Begins for UG, PG, and PhD Agriculture Admissions

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has officially launched the online counselling process for admissions to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PhD programs in agriculture for the year 2025. This step is aimed at streamlining the admission process and providing aspiring students with a seamless pathway to pursue careers in the agriculture sector.

The online counselling system is designed to make the admission process transparent, efficient, and accessible to students across the country. Candidates who have qualified in the relevant ICAR entrance examinations can now register online, fill in their choices of courses and colleges, and track their admission status in real time.

ICAR officials emphasized that this initiative not only reduces administrative hurdles but also ensures that merit-based selection is conducted in a fair and systematic manner. By offering a centralized platform, students can apply to multiple institutions without the need to visit campuses physically, saving both time and resources.

The counselling process covers a wide range of programs in agriculture, including horticulture, agricultural engineering, animal sciences, fisheries, and agricultural biotechnology, among others. This diverse array of courses reflects ICAR’s commitment to strengthening India’s agricultural education ecosystem and meeting the growing demand for skilled professionals in the sector.

Experts note that the early launch of the counselling process provides students with ample time to make informed choices regarding their courses and institutions. With agriculture playing a critical role in India’s economy and food security, ICAR’s efforts aim to nurture a new generation of agricultural scientists, researchers, and practitioners.

Students are encouraged to visit the official ICAR portal to complete their registration, submit their preferences, and stay updated with the counselling schedule. With the online system ensuring transparency and efficiency, ICAR 2025 counselling marks a significant step toward modernizing agricultural education in India.
