Insecticides (India) Limited Appoints Devendra Kumar Ray as Chief Operating Officer

Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL) has announced the appointment of Mr. Devendra Kumar Ray as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), bringing over 35 years of experience in chemical manufacturing and operations management.

Mr. Ray’s extensive career encompasses expertise in large-scale chemical production, process development, technology transfer, and strategic project execution. He is recognized for driving efficiency, safety, sustainability, and Responsible Care practices in complex manufacturing environments.

A graduate of HBTI Kanpur with a B.Tech in Chemical Technology and B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Allahabad, Mr. Ray has led end-to-end plant operations, executed world-class capital projects, and delivered transformational initiatives in globally integrated organizations.

Prior to joining IIL, he held senior leadership roles at PI Industries Ltd., Cheminova India Ltd. (now FMC Ltd.), Neogen Chemicals Ltd., Cohizon Life Sciences Ltd., Atul Ltd., Searle India, and Hoechst India, contributing significantly to operational excellence and organizational growth across the chemical sector.

At IIL, Mr. Ray will leverage his experience in ESG implementation, process safety management, and people-centric governance to enhance operational capabilities and drive sustainable, future-ready progress. His appointment is expected to strengthen IIL’s position as a leading chemical manufacturing company while supporting the company’s commitment to safety, innovation, and operational excellence.
