
JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., a leading name in India’s tyre industry, has inaugurated Phase III of its capacity expansion and modernization at the Banmore Passenger Car Radial (PCR) manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. The expansion raises the plant’s capacity to approximately 10.5 million tyres annually, reinforcing the company’s commitment to India’s passenger vehicle market and domestic manufacturing.
The inauguration was performed by Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, in the presence of Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director, and Mr. Anshuman Singhania, Managing Director of JK Tyre, alongside the MSIL leadership team.
Phase III is part of a multi-phase investment of over ₹1,000 crore at Banmore, enhancing the plant’s production to 30,000 PCR tyres per day. Dr. Raghupati Singhania stated that the expansion underscores JK Tyre’s focus on technology-led innovation, capacity enhancement, and sustainable, high-quality production to meet growing passenger vehicle demand.
The Banmore facility has been a cornerstone of JK Tyre’s radial tyre operations, supporting regional industrial development, employment generation, and community initiatives, including healthcare, literacy, livelihood programs, and local sports promotion. The plant also emphasizes sustainability, adopting energy-efficient processes aligned with the company’s ESG commitments.
