RLF AgTech Enters Indian Market with Major Distribution Agreements

Australian agribusiness firm RLF AgTech has secured two strategic distribution agreements in India, marking a significant step in its global expansion strategy. The company announced partnerships with leading agricultural groups Anu Products and Gujarat Pesticides, enabling its entry into one of the world’s largest and most dynamic agricultural markets.

The agreements follow extensive groundwork by RLF, including early-stage partner engagement, market positioning, product registration processes, and field trial activities. With these deals in place, the company now gains direct access to key agricultural production regions across India through established distribution networks.

RLF CEO Stuart Upton stated that collaborating with Anu Products and Gujarat Pesticides allows the company to bypass years of infrastructure development. By leveraging existing networks that collectively serve millions of farmers, RLF can adopt a capital-light market entry model and focus on accelerating product rollout and sales growth.

India represents a globally significant opportunity for agricultural input suppliers. Agriculture and allied activities support approximately 880 million people—around 60% of the population—underscoring the sector’s economic and social importance. The country is also among the world’s largest fertilizer consumers, with usage estimated at about 60 million tonnes in 2023–24.

RLF believes its advanced crop nutrition portfolio can address India’s increasing demand for improved productivity and efficient nutrient management. The company plans to initially concentrate on product registration and validation trials before scaling up commercial operations.

Under the agreements, Anu Products and Gujarat Pesticides will distribute a wide range of RLF offerings, including BSN seed primers, Ultra Foliar nutrition products, MAX Foliar crop-specific solutions, IntelliTrace micronutrient technologies, the PowerPK range, and various fertigation and injection systems.

Anu Products brings over 33 years of operational experience, supported by a network of more than 3,000 distributors and dealers and over 50,000 retailers, collectively serving more than 10 million farmers. Gujarat Pesticides operates across 15 Indian states, supporting over 500,000 farmers through a distribution network exceeding 3,000 partners. The company also collaborates with major industry players such as UPL and Rallis India.

Notably, the agreement permits Gujarat Pesticides to repackage and market RLF products under its own branding, potentially strengthening adoption through established local channels.

With these distribution channels secured, RLF is positioned to transition toward active commercialisation in India, targeting a substantial share of the country’s vast agricultural input market.
