Syngenta to Lead Global Agricultural Challenge Discussions at WEF 2026

Syngenta Group is set to play a prominent role at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026, where its senior executives will lead high-level discussions on the future of global agriculture amid rising economic, environmental, and geopolitical pressures. The company will emphasize how artificial intelligence (AI), data-driven insights, and open technology platforms can support farmers in building resilient and sustainable food systems.

At WEF 2026, Syngenta leaders are expected to highlight the growing complexity facing agriculture worldwide. Farmers today are dealing with volatile input costs, climate variability, soil degradation, water stress, and disruptions in global trade. According to the company, addressing these interconnected challenges requires a shift from fragmented solutions to integrated, technology-enabled approaches that place farmers at the center of innovation.

A key focus of Syngenta’s engagement will be the application of artificial intelligence across the agricultural value chain. AI-powered tools are increasingly being used to analyze weather patterns, optimize crop nutrition, predict pest and disease outbreaks, and support precision farming decisions at the field level. Syngenta executives will underline that such technologies not only improve productivity and profitability for farmers but also reduce environmental footprints by minimizing excessive use of water, fertilizers, and crop protection products.

Another major theme will be the role of open technology platforms and collaboration. Syngenta advocates for digital ecosystems where agronomic data, research insights, and farm-level information can be securely shared among farmers, researchers, technology providers, and policymakers. Open platforms, the company argues, accelerate innovation, avoid duplication of efforts, and ensure that digital solutions are scalable and accessible, particularly for small and medium-scale farmers.

Geopolitical uncertainty and supply chain disruptions are also expected to feature prominently in the discussions. Syngenta will stress the importance of diversified sourcing, local innovation, and science-based policies to safeguard food security. The company’s leadership is likely to call for stronger public–private partnerships to align technology development with national and global sustainability goals.

Through its participation at WEF 2026, Syngenta aims to position itself as a key contributor to shaping the global agricultural agenda. By combining science, digital innovation, and collaboration, the company believes agriculture can become more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable while continuing to meet the food needs of a growing global population.
