TAFE Aims for 2 Lakh Tractor Sales in FY26 Amid Growing Rural Demand

Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), one of India’s largest tractor manufacturers, has set an ambitious goal of selling 200,000 tractors in the financial year 2025–26. The company is optimistic about rural demand, favourable monsoon forecasts, and ongoing government support for the agriculture sector.

Senior officials at TAFE revealed that the company expects a double-digit growth in tractor sales this fiscal, backed by improved farm incomes, rising mechanisation, and expansion in underserved markets.

“We are targeting sales of 2 lakh tractors in FY26, with a sharp focus on both domestic and international markets,” a TAFE spokesperson said. “With better monsoon predictions and strong demand from agriculture and allied sectors, the outlook is promising.”

Strengthening Market Presence

TAFE, which manufactures tractors under popular brands such as Massey Ferguson and Eicher, has a wide network across India and exports to more than 100 countries. The company plans to increase its rural penetration by expanding dealer networks and offering customised finance options to small and marginal farmers.

In addition to traditional strongholds like Punjab, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, TAFE is also focusing on Eastern and North-Eastern states, where tractor adoption is still growing.

Focus on Innovation and Affordability

To support its growth plan, TAFE is investing in product innovation, fuel-efficient technology, and smart farming solutions. The company aims to offer a wider range of tractors catering to various horsepower segments and diverse crop needs.

“We’re listening closely to farmers and developing tractors that meet their region-specific requirements. We also aim to make mechanisation more affordable through flexible financing and subsidy-linked programs,” the spokesperson added.

Export Push and Global Strategy

Apart from strengthening its domestic position, TAFE is eyeing a significant increase in exports. With growing demand in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, the company is enhancing its product portfolio for international markets.

Industry analysts believe that if favourable monsoon conditions continue and rural spending remains strong, India’s tractor industry may witness steady volume growth in FY26. TAFE’s ambitious sales target could position it among the fastest-growing companies in the sector.

Industry Outlook

India’s overall tractor market is expected to grow by 8–10% in FY26, driven by better crop prices, increased rural infrastructure spending, and rising demand for farm equipment.

With a strong brand presence, wide product range, and growing customer base, TAFE appears well-positioned to capitalise on these trends and reach its 2 lakh sales milestone in the coming year.
