Union Minister Rajeev Ranjan Singh to Visit Israel for Global Summit on Aquatic Food Security

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Shri Rajeev Ranjan Singh, will visit Israel from January 13 to 15, 2026, to participate in the Bilateral Global Summit on “Aquatic Food Security: The Marine Future of Southeast Asia (CEA)” in Eilat. The invitation for the summit was extended by Israel’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Shri Avi Dichter.

The visit underscores the strengthening strategic and economic ties between India and Israel and highlights the shared commitment of both countries to enhance bilateral cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture.

During the summit, Shri Singh is expected to hold bilateral meetings with his Israeli counterpart and ministers from other participating countries. Discussions are likely to focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation through policy alignment and institutional partnerships, promoting sustainable fisheries management and modern aquaculture technologies, enhancing research, innovation, and capacity building, facilitating trade and investment through improved market access and standards, and advancing joint research and development in advanced aquaculture. The agenda will emphasize sustainability, climate resilience, and food security in the marine economy.

Shri Singh will also meet with CEOs of leading Israeli companies and startups in agriculture, fisheries, and aquaculture. The visit includes engagements with key institutions and innovation centers, offering insights into Israel’s state-of-the-art technological ecosystem in fisheries and aquaculture.

This visit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding India-Israel partnership, promote collaboration in fisheries and aquaculture, and open new avenues for cooperation in mutually beneficial areas, reinforcing India’s vision of sustainable aquatic food security and innovative marine technologies.
