Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Visit Gujarat on January 13, Attend ‘Atmanirbhar Hanol Mahotsav 2026’

Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will visit Gujarat on Tuesday, January 13, to participate in the Atmanirbhar Hanol Mahotsav 2026, being held in Hanol village of Palitana taluka in Bhavnagar district.

Hanol village has emerged as a model village through the sustained efforts of Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya. The village is widely seen as a living example of Mahatma Gandhi’s concept of Gram Swaraj and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Adarsh Gram (Ideal Village). Dr. Mandaviya shares a deep personal and emotional connection with Hanol, as it is his birthplace, and he has closely monitored and guided its transformation into a self-reliant rural model.

Under Dr. Mandaviya’s leadership and guidance, Hanol has witnessed significant development across key sectors including basic infrastructure, sanitation, education, healthcare, agriculture, and village-based industries. Several innovative initiatives have been implemented to translate the Prime Minister’s “Dream Village” vision into reality, with strong community participation and local ownership.

The visit of Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan is expected to further strengthen the collective commitment of the two Union Ministers to promote the Hanol Model across the country. Both leaders view Hanol as an inspiring example of people-led development, self-reliance, and inclusive growth, capable of offering a replicable roadmap for rural transformation nationwide.

During the Atmanirbhar Hanol Mahotsav 2026, Shri Chouhan will interact with farmers, women self-help groups, youth, and local representatives, and will deliberate on strategies to share Hanol’s successful experiences and innovations at the national level. The event will feature multiple sessions and activities focusing on rural development, agricultural innovation, self-reliant village economies, and social empowerment, in the presence of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and other distinguished guests.

As per the scheduled programme, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will depart from Delhi for Ahmedabad on January 13 and proceed to Hanol village by helicopter. He will participate in various festival activities, exhibitions, and community interactions from afternoon till evening.
