UPL has been honoured with the SBCOP Award in the Food Systems category at COP30 for its Low-Methane Rice Project, a climate-smart initiative designed to reduce methane emissions in rice cultivation through advanced sustainable practices.

The award recognizes UPL’s commitment to developing science-based, scalable solutions that strengthen sustainable food systems while addressing the pressing challenges of climate change. The Low-Methane Rice Project empowers farmers with innovative practices that not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also enhance productivity and resilience, aligning environmental sustainability with agricultural development.
