FMC India Appoints Prashant Hegde as New Managing Director

FMC India has announced the appointment of Prashant Hegde as its new Managing Director, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in the agriculture sector. His extensive background spans marketing, sales, business transformation, and mergers and acquisitions, positioning him to guide FMC India through its next growth phase.

Much of Mr. Hegde’s career was shaped at Monsanto Company, where he collaborated closely with the India sales organization and contributed to sustained growth in both crop protection and seeds businesses. He played a pivotal role during the Bayer-Monsanto integration, overseeing the combined vegetable seeds operations across the Asia Pacific region, and later led the integrated team at Bayer APAC.

Prior to joining FMC, Prashant served as CEO of the agri-business at PI Industries Ltd., where he focused on building long-term growth foundations, developing the company’s biologicals portfolio, and assembling a strong leadership team to drive future expansion.

FMC India views this leadership change as a strategic move to strengthen its position in a rapidly evolving agricultural landscape. With Mr. Hegde at the helm, the company aims to refine its strategic focus, accelerate innovation, and drive sustainable growth, while continuing to support farmers with advanced crop protection solutions.

His appointment underscores FMC India’s commitment to market leadership, operational excellence, and innovation, reflecting the company’s ambition to expand its impact in the Indian agri-input sector.
