CropLife India to Convene National Conference on Online Sale of Crop Protection Products

CropLife India has announced that it will host a National Conference on the Sale of Crop Protection Products through E-Commerce Platforms on January 21, 2026, at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The conference is expected to bring together a wide range of stakeholders to discuss the growing influence of digital platforms on the agri-input supply chain.

With e-commerce rapidly transforming the way agricultural inputs are marketed and accessed in India, the conference aims to examine how online sales of crop protection products can be scaled responsibly while ensuring farmer safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance. The event will focus on building trust in digital marketplaces and addressing concerns associated with the online availability of sensitive agri-inputs.

Key sessions will deliberate on issues such as product authenticity and traceability, prevention of spurious or unregistered products, and the need for robust systems that protect farmers while promoting innovation and wider access. Regulatory aspects, including licensing requirements, certification norms, and enforcement mechanisms for online platforms, are also expected to be central to the discussions.

A major highlight of the conference will be multi-stakeholder interactions involving representatives from e-commerce companies, government departments, policymakers, the Central Insecticides Board & Registration Committee (CIB & RC), farmer organisations, and the crop protection industry. These deliberations are intended to assess current regulatory gaps and identify practical, implementable solutions suited to a fast-evolving digital ecosystem.

As digital commerce continues to reshape agricultural input markets across the country, the conference is expected to play a critical role in aligning policy, regulation, and industry practices. CropLife India aims to ensure that the transition towards online sales of crop protection products remains farmer-centric, transparent, and compliant, while supporting innovation and responsible growth in the sector.

The conference is anticipated to contribute meaningfully to policy dialogue on the future of agri-input distribution in India’s digital economy.
