Philippines Hosts Asia-Pacific Hub for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems

Over 2,000 stakeholders, including farmers, chefs, researchers, and policymakers, gathered in the Philippines for the launch of a new Asia-Pacific hub dedicated to sustainable agriculture and resilient food systems. The event highlighted innovative approaches to biodiversity conservation, climate-smart farming, and the transformation of regional food systems.

Organizers emphasized that the hub aims to foster collaboration across governments, communities, and the private sector to address pressing challenges in agriculture and food security. Discussions focused on sustainable practices that increase productivity while protecting natural resources, supporting rural livelihoods, and promoting equitable access to nutritious food.

“The Asia-Pacific hub is a critical platform for sharing knowledge, scaling sustainable solutions, and empowering stakeholders across the region,” said a representative from the organizing committee. “By bringing together diverse voices—from farmers to policymakers—we can drive meaningful change in how food is produced, distributed, and consumed.”

The event featured workshops, technical sessions, and demonstrations of innovative farming techniques, alongside dialogue on policy frameworks to support sustainable agriculture. Participants explored strategies to strengthen climate resilience, preserve biodiversity, and create more inclusive and sustainable food systems for the Asia-Pacific region.

The Philippines’ hosting of this hub reflects the country’s growing role in promoting sustainable agriculture and regional cooperation in addressing global food system challenges.
