Rabi crop sowing in the Pune division has nearly reached completion, with farmers achieving 99% of the targeted acreage. Key crops including wheat, gram, mustard, and jowar are showing healthy growth, signaling a promising outlook for yields this season.
Agricultural officials reported that favorable weather conditions and timely irrigation support have contributed to the smooth progress of sowing. Early crop assessments indicate that plants are entering positive growth stages, which could translate into higher productivity if conditions remain favorable.
“The near-completion of Rabi sowing and the strong initial growth of crops are encouraging signs for the upcoming harvest,” said a representative from the Pune Agriculture Department. “Farmers have shown resilience and efficiency in preparing the fields, sowing seeds on schedule, and managing inputs effectively.”
Officials are continuing to monitor crop conditions, advising farmers to maintain proper irrigation, pest management, and nutrient support to maximize yields. With Rabi sowing almost complete, authorities remain optimistic about the overall agricultural output in the division this season, which could support both local food security and market supply.
