Brazil Set to Boost Robusta Coffee Production, Challenging Vietnam’s Lead

Brazil is poised to become a major player in the global robusta coffee market, with projections indicating production of approximately 24.7 million 60-kg bags in 2025. This growth could significantly narrow the gap with current leader Vietnam, according to industry analysts.

The report highlights Brazil’s unique advantage: the country can expand robusta cultivation without contributing to deforestation, thanks to available land and sustainable farming practices. This positions Brazil as a key supplier in meeting rising global demand for robusta, widely used in instant coffee and espresso blends.

“Brazil’s robusta expansion reflects both strategic planning and environmental responsibility,” said a market expert. “It’s an opportunity to strengthen its position in a market long dominated by Vietnam.”

The growth is also expected to stabilize global coffee supply, benefiting roasters and consumers worldwide. Analysts note that Brazil’s robusta output could play a crucial role in balancing global coffee prices and meeting increasing demand for quality beans.

With careful management, Brazil’s robusta expansion may reshape the global coffee landscape while maintaining a focus on sustainability, ensuring long-term benefits for farmers and the industry alike.
