Experts Convene in New Delhi to Advance Mechanisation for Climate-Resilient Agriculture

The Centre of Excellence for Farm Mechanization Skills in India (CEFMI) hosted a high-level Roundtable Meeting on “Mechanisation for Climate Resilient Agriculture” at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, bringing together leading experts, policymakers, researchers, and industry stakeholders from across the country.

The event saw active participation from key institutions, including the Directorate of NRFMTTI Hisar, Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI), Escorts Kubota Limited, Mahindra Group, CRDT – IIT Delhi, Earthood, Centre of Excellence for AgriPV in India, Water Technology Centre – ICAR-IARI, CEEW, IDH, CEASI, and several other distinguished organisations working across India’s agricultural landscape.

Discussions were centred around two major themes:

  1. Mechanisation for Climate Resilience – current trends, emerging challenges, opportunities, and inclusive strategies for scaling solutions across diverse farming systems.
  2. Technology-Driven Sustainable Agriculture – the impact of advanced tools and the roadmap for expanding climate-friendly innovations to support farmers.

Participants also shared practical insights on building a robust, future-ready ecosystem for farm mechanisation in India. Representatives emphasised the need for integrating modern machinery, digital tools, and evidence-based practices to enhance climate resilience and resource efficiency.

During the session, AgriOwn highlighted its contributions in Gujarat, especially in the areas of agri-drones, soil health management, fertilizer and water use efficiency, and the development of rural agri-entrepreneurs—initiatives aimed at empowering farmers and strengthening local agricultural systems.

The roundtable featured valuable perspectives from eminent speakers such as Dr. Satender Singh Arya, Dr. Mukesh Jain, Mr. Aman Kumar, Mr. Saikrishna Nanduri, Mr. Vivek Kumar, Mr. Don Lewis, Mr. Avinash Kumar, and Dr. D.K. Singh, whose expertise added depth to the discussions.
