International Agriculture Conclave Concludes at SHUATS, Focuses on Sustainability and Innovation

The International Agriculture Conclave “Krishi Mantrana 2026” concluded successfully at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), bringing together agricultural scientists, policymakers, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs from India and abroad. The multi-day event served as a global platform to deliberate on sustainable farming practices, agri-innovation, and entrepreneurship-driven rural transformation.

The conclave featured technical sessions, panel discussions, and interactive workshops centered on climate-resilient agriculture, precision farming technologies, digital agriculture platforms, and value-chain development. Experts highlighted the urgent need to adopt resource-efficient practices to address soil degradation, water scarcity, and climate variability impacting farm productivity.

A key focus area of Krishi Mantrana 2026 was sustainable intensification—enhancing agricultural output while minimizing environmental impact. Speakers emphasized integrated nutrient management, conservation agriculture, and the adoption of renewable energy solutions in farm operations. Discussions also explored the role of artificial intelligence, remote sensing, and data analytics in improving crop forecasting and farm-level decision-making.

Entrepreneurship and agri-startups were another major highlight. The conclave showcased innovative agribusiness models aimed at increasing farmer incomes through value addition, direct market linkages, and digital supply chain solutions. Young innovators and student entrepreneurs presented prototypes and scalable business concepts designed to bridge technology gaps in rural areas.

International delegates shared case studies on sustainable agricultural transformation in different agro-climatic regions, encouraging cross-border collaboration in research and technology transfer. Emphasis was placed on strengthening public-private partnerships and fostering industry-academia linkages to accelerate innovation adoption.

University officials noted that Krishi Mantrana 2026 aligns with SHUATS’ broader mission of promoting research-led agricultural development and capacity building. The conclave concluded with a resolution to enhance global cooperation in agricultural education, promote climate-smart farming models, and encourage youth participation in agribusiness ventures.

As agriculture faces mounting pressures from population growth and environmental challenges, the discussions at Krishi Mantrana 2026 underscored the importance of collaborative, technology-driven, and sustainability-focused strategies to secure the future of global food systems.
