Purdue University’s College of Agriculture has strengthened its position as a global leader in agricultural sciences, earning the No. 6 spot worldwide in the 2026 international academic rankings. The achievement underscores Purdue’s long-standing commitment to cutting-edge research, high-quality education, and industry-aligned innovation in food, agriculture, and environmental sciences.

The latest rankings evaluate universities on multiple parameters, including research productivity, global academic reputation, industry impact, scientific citations, and international collaborations. Purdue excelled across these metrics, reflecting its comprehensive contributions to modern agriculture and sustainability.

The College of Agriculture is widely recognized for its pioneering work in plant sciences, digital agriculture, crop improvement, climate resilience, and agricultural engineering. Its research centers—including the Phenotyping Center, the Center for Global Food Security, and the Institute for Plant Sciences—continue to produce breakthrough innovations that support global food security and climate-smart agriculture.
