PM Modi Launches ₹35,440 Crore Agricultural Schemes to Boost Farmer Income and Self-Reliance

In a major boost to India’s agricultural sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated two significant schemes worth ₹35,440 crore: the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses. These initiatives aim to enhance farmer incomes, promote sustainable farming practices, and reduce the nation’s reliance on agricultural imports.

The Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana is designed to modernize crop production and ensure farmers receive fair returns for their produce. By providing better access to technology, improved seeds, and efficient storage solutions, the scheme seeks to strengthen the entire agricultural value chain.

The Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses focuses on increasing domestic pulse production to meet rising demand and ensure food security. By promoting advanced cultivation techniques, enhancing irrigation, and supporting market linkages, the initiative aims to make India self-reliant in pulses, reducing the need for imports.

Speaking at the launch, PM Modi emphasized that these schemes are part of the government’s ongoing commitment to transform Indian agriculture. “Our goal is to ensure that every farmer earns better, adopts sustainable practices, and contributes to the nation’s self-reliance,” he said.

With an estimated investment of ₹35,440 crore, these programs are expected to benefit millions of farmers across the country, ushering in a new era of growth, innovation, and sustainability in Indian agriculture.
