Young Agri-Entrepreneurs Visit PAU, Ludhiana to Seek Technical and Marketing Guidance

Two aspiring agricultural entrepreneurs visited the NIDHI-TBI (Technology Business Incubator), under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and the School of Business Studies (SBS) at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, to explore opportunities for technical and marketing support for their agri-based ventures.

Mr. Jaspreet Singh from Hoshiarpur, who operates Anhad Foods flour mill, sought expert advice for his new brand AAD Foods, focused on producing spices, pasta, and macaroni. Meanwhile, Mr. Gurveer Singh from village Kalkh in Dehlon, skilled in graphic design and website development, discussed strategies for processing and marketing for his proposed oil extraction business.

Dr. Ramneek Singh, Principal Investigator of NIDHI-TBI and Director, School of Business Studies, PAU, welcomed both entrepreneurs. He provided consumer behavior insights and marketing strategy guidance to Mr. Jaspreet Singh, while offering networking and strategic linkage support to Mr. Gurveer Singh. Dr. Singh encouraged him to explore on-farm direct selling models to strengthen his business framework.

Dr. Preetinder Kaur, Principal Scientist, Department of Food Processing and Engineering, PAU, shared valuable advice on packaging technologies and food processing methods to enhance product quality and shelf life.

Dr. Arshdeep Singh, Extension Scientist, Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU, discussed the technical aspects of spice production and processing steps, providing detailed guidance to Mr. Jaspreet Singh for his upcoming product line.

Mr. Sameer Gautam, Business Manager, NIDHI-TBI, assisted both entrepreneurs with the TBI registration process and offered key recommendations on branding and packaging improvements to help them strengthen their market identity and consumer appeal.

Dr. Poonam A. Sachdev, Co-Principal Investigator, NIDHI-TBI, and a leading Food Technology Expert at PAU, congratulated both visitors for their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit.

Concluding the session, Mr. Gurinder Singh, CEO, NIDHI-TBI, appreciated the efforts of the PAU team and emphasized that such interactive sessions provide practical insights and industry exposure to emerging entrepreneurs. He noted that PAU’s initiative is a significant step toward promoting agri-based entrepreneurship and empowering youth for self-reliance.
