Bayer Targets €1 Billion Hybrid Wheat Market with Focus on Climate-Resilient Farming

Global life science company Bayer has announced plans to significantly expand its hybrid wheat business, targeting a €1 billion global market opportunity as demand grows for climate-resilient, high-yielding wheat varieties. The company’s investment strategy reflects the increasing need for innovative crop solutions that can help farmers maintain productivity under changing climate conditions.

Hybrid wheat is gaining attention worldwide as agricultural researchers and seed companies work to improve crop performance in the face of rising temperatures, irregular rainfall, and increasing pressure from pests and diseases. Bayer believes advances in plant breeding and seed technology can play a key role in helping farmers achieve more stable yields while improving resource-use efficiency.
