PM Modi Virtually Inaugurates ₹76.5 Crore Milk Powder Plant in Indore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually inaugurated a state-of-the-art milk powder processing plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, with a total investment of ₹76.5 crore. The facility is expected to significantly enhance India’s dairy processing capabilities and support the growth of the country’s dairy sector.

The newly commissioned plant will process large volumes of milk into high-quality milk powder, catering to both domestic consumption and export markets. By adding value to raw milk, the facility aims to increase income opportunities for dairy farmers while ensuring a consistent supply of dairy products to consumers.

Officials highlighted that the plant incorporates modern technology and automated processing systems, ensuring efficiency, hygiene, and product quality. It is part of the broader effort to strengthen India’s dairy infrastructure and promote the development of the dairy industry as a key contributor to rural livelihoods and the national economy.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Modi emphasized the importance of modernizing the dairy sector to benefit farmers and consumers alike. “This milk powder plant will not only improve processing capacities but also enhance the overall value chain in the dairy sector, supporting farmers and ensuring quality products reach households,” he said.

Industry analysts note that India is one of the largest producers of milk in the world, and initiatives like this plant are crucial for leveraging the country’s dairy potential. By converting surplus milk into powder, the facility also helps in managing supply fluctuations and reducing wastage.

The plant is expected to generate employment opportunities, promote technology-driven dairy practices, and contribute to strengthening India’s position in global dairy trade. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader objectives of supporting rural livelihoods, enhancing food processing infrastructure, and promoting value addition in agriculture.

With the inauguration of this milk powder plant, India takes a significant step toward modernizing its dairy sector, ensuring higher farmer incomes, and meeting growing domestic and international demand for dairy products.
