The award ceremony took place on a grand stage decorated with vibrant peacock-themed artwork, reflecting India’s cultural identity. As dignitaries and stakeholders from across the Asia-Pacific region gathered, Mr. Rathi’s contribution was celebrated as a major milestone in strengthening policy frameworks crucial to the future of agriculture. His name and photograph prominently displayed on the event screen underscored the importance of this recognition during one of the most influential seed industry platforms in the world.

A Leader in Agricultural Policy and Trait Innovation

In his role at Bayer, Mr. Rathi has been at the forefront of shaping agricultural policy that supports scientific progress, seed sector modernization, and farmer-centric innovation. As Director – Agricultural Affairs & Policy (IBSL), he has played a key role in engaging with government bodies, industry associations, and regulatory authorities to advocate for science-based, transparent, and globally aligned regulations. His parallel leadership in the Traits Licensing Business has contributed toward ensuring that advanced agri-biotech solutions reach Indian farmers in a responsible and sustainable manner.

Through his policy advocacy efforts, Mr. Rathi has actively worked to promote a regulatory environment that encourages investment, research, and technology adoption in Indian agriculture. Colleagues and industry stakeholders regard him as a strong voice for harmonizing policy frameworks with international best practices while keeping the needs of India’s farmers at the center.

Why the Award Matters

The “Impactful Policy Advocacy Award” is presented to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in influencing agricultural policy, enabling technological advancement, and supporting long-term sectoral growth. At a time when India and the broader Asia-Pacific region are embracing rapid advancements in biotechnologies, seed genetics, climate-resilient varieties, and digital agriculture, such advocacy is essential for ensuring that innovation translates into on-ground benefits.

Mr. Rathi’s work has consistently emphasized the importance of regulatory clarity, predictable policy frameworks, and stakeholder dialogue. His contributions extend beyond corporate responsibilities to making a wider impact on India’s agricultural ecosystem, particularly in areas such as:

  • Streamlining seed and trait regulations
  • Promoting research-based policymaking
  • Strengthening farmer access to innovation
  • Supporting compliance, stewardship, and sustainability standards
  • Building industry-government collaboration across Asia

These achievements align closely with the goals of the Asian Seed Congress, which aims to accelerate innovation in the seed sector while ensuring food security and economic growth for member countries.

Celebration at the Asian Seed Congress

During the felicitation, industry leaders and delegates acknowledged how Mr. Rathi’s efforts have contributed to shaping policy discussions not only in India but across the Asian region. The ceremony was met with applause as representatives from different countries and seed organizations appreciated his steadfast commitment to strengthening the agricultural value chain.

The Asian Seed Congress, known for its global networking, technical discussions, and policy dialogues, often highlights outstanding contributions that push the industry forward. This year, Mr. Rathi’s recognition served as one of the key highlights of the Congress, capturing attention for its relevance to ongoing policy reforms and technology integration across Asia’s agricultural sector.

Driving the Future of Indian and Asian Agriculture

As agriculture undergoes rapid transformation driven by climate challenges, technological advancements, and the need for sustainable productivity, leaders like Mr. Rajvir Rathi play a crucial role in bridging the gap between innovation and on-ground implementation.
