SAP and Syngenta Form Strategic Partnership to Scale AI in Agriculture

In a move set to transform modern farming, SAP SE and Syngenta have announced a multiyear strategic collaboration to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) across agricultural operations worldwide. The partnership aims to strengthen supply chain resilience, improve predictive analytics, and support sustainable farming practices on a global scale.

As the world faces the challenge of feeding an estimated 10 billion people by 2050, data-driven solutions are becoming increasingly critical for agricultural efficiency and sustainability. Through this collaboration, SAP’s expertise in enterprise software and AI technologies will be combined with Syngenta’s deep knowledge of crop science and agronomy. Together, they plan to develop advanced digital tools to optimize crop planning, resource allocation, and risk management.

“Our goal is to empower farmers and agribusinesses with actionable insights that enhance productivity and sustainability,” said a spokesperson from SAP. “By embedding AI into key agricultural processes, we can improve decision-making and help build a more resilient food system.”

The partnership will leverage AI to enhance predictive agronomy, enabling early detection of crop stress, pest outbreaks, and climate-related risks. Additionally, integrated analytics will allow for more efficient supply chain management, reducing waste and improving the flow of food from farm to market.

Industry experts say the collaboration represents a significant step toward digitally transforming agriculture, combining cutting-edge technology with scientific expertise to address pressing global food security challenges. By harnessing AI, the SAP–Syngenta initiative seeks to make farming smarter, more sustainable, and better equipped to meet future demand.

The multiyear program is expected to roll out in phases across multiple regions, setting a new benchmark for tech-enabled agriculture and reinforcing the role of innovation in feeding the growing global population.
