UAS Bengaluru to Honour Scientists and Farmers for Excellence, to Host India Mushroom Summit 2025

The University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru is set to recognise the outstanding contributions of scientists and farmers in the field of agriculture through its annual awards for excellence. The university will also host the much-anticipated India Mushroom Summit 2025, bringing together experts, researchers, and entrepreneurs from across the country to discuss innovations and opportunities in mushroom cultivation.

According to university officials, the awards ceremony aims to celebrate innovation, research, and practical advancements that have made a significant impact on Indian agriculture. Scientists who have demonstrated excellence in agricultural research and technology development will be honoured alongside progressive farmers who have successfully implemented modern and sustainable practices.

The upcoming India Mushroom Summit 2025, to be held on the university campus, will serve as a national platform for knowledge exchange on mushroom production, value addition, and market linkages. The event is expected to attract participants from academia, industry, and farmer groups.

“Mushroom cultivation is emerging as a promising avenue for income diversification and nutritional security,” said a senior official from UAS Bengaluru. “The summit will focus on new technologies, training opportunities, and policy support needed to strengthen the mushroom sector in India.”

The university, known for its pioneering role in agricultural education and research, continues to promote sustainable farming and agribusiness innovation through collaborations with national and international institutions.

By honouring the achievements of scientists and farmers while encouraging dialogue on emerging opportunities like mushroom farming, UAS Bengaluru aims to reinforce its commitment to advancing India’s agricultural growth and rural prosperity.
