Syngenta Foundation India and Rotary Club of Pune, E’legant Forge Strategic Partnership to Advance Climate-Smart Agriculture Villages

In a major step toward enhancing climate resilience and strengthening farmer livelihoods, Syngenta Foundation India (SFI) has announced a strategic partnership with the Rotary Club of Pune, E’legant. The collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of Climate-Smart Agriculture Villages (CSAV) and support the establishment of FPO-led Rotary cooperative stores to improve market linkages and income opportunities for farming communities.

The newly signed MoU marks an important milestone in scaling SFI’s proven climate-smart agriculture models while empowering Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to achieve better price realization through community-driven market outlets.

Key areas of collaboration include:

  • Promotion of Climate-Smart Agriculture across targeted villages
  • Demonstration of resilient, climate-smart farming practices adaptable to local conditions
  • Support for FPOs in setting up and operating cooperative stores
  • Facilitating adoption of climate-resilient technologies and innovations
  • Joint development of project proposals to mobilize funding and expand CSAV initiatives

Speaking on the partnership, SFI emphasized its commitment to equipping farmers with the right knowledge, technology, and market opportunities to build sustainable and profitable agricultural livelihoods.

This collaboration underscores a shared vision of fostering climate resilience, strengthening rural markets, and creating scalable models that benefit smallholder farmers across India.
